I'll bet that ice fall hurt like hell physically and mentally, she probably felt embarrassed and that she'd let down her partner. I'd say playing on with a broken leg is worse but I wouldn't knock skating injuries. Plus, there is a natural (if sexist) assumption that a big bad quarterback can take a lot more damage than a petite little skater.
