It featured that rarest of things – a pass for the lead – and confirmed that McLaren are now right on the pace of Ferrari. This is very encouraging for the championship as the next two races will favour McLaren.

They were much faster than Ferrari in Monaco and Montreal last year and, although I think the gaps will be smaller this year, I still think Hamilton and Heikki Kovalainen will be stronger there, which should tighten up the championship even more.
